A modern purose-built state-of-the-art Category 1 rendering plant located in West Yorkshire. Omega Proteins Ltd processes by-products that require complete destruction. We’ve invested heavily in the latest rendering equipment and all our processing equipment and procedures adhere stringently to health and safety and legislative requirements.

Through rendering animal by-products in our plant we’re able to create meal which can be used for power generation and to fuel cement works. Our meal has a higher calorific value than imported coal – and is also a more sustainable method of generating electricity. The tallow (oils) generated from rendering are combusted through an on-site oxidiser which is an environmentally friendly method of taking the process gases and also to generate steam for the process.  The tallow produced is also used in the bio-diesel industry.
