On 1 October 2017 BJK sponsored a potjiekos competition in Balfour. For those who are not aware a potjiekos in South Africa, is a "small-pot food", a dish prepared outdoors. It is traditionally cooked in a round, cast iron, three-legged pot.
The day was a great success and the SPCA raised a lot of funds through the day. BJK sponsored 15 bags of dogfood, a gift voucher as well as the charcoal and fire wood for the day. They also managed to raise R1000.00 for the SPCA by auctioning a bag of dog food.
The SPCA (Societies for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) aims to protect all animals from cruelty, neglect and ill treatment. To promote the welfare of all animals, and to engender compassion for all animals. To live up to their mission, necessitates the work of many different units within the SPCA, which together ensure that animal rights are protected.
Well done BJK for your great work!
