Wind Power
Leo Group Ltd have invested in wind turbines across some of our sites in the UK. Our Bradford plant turbine produces green energy to be used for the day-to-day running of the plant, significantly reducing the business’ impact on the environment. We also have a wind turbine at our site in Kintore where we sell electricity back to the grid.
Solar Energy
Solar energy relies entirely on gathering energy from the sun and converting it into electricity, using it means we are not producing any greenhouse gases or contributing to global warming. Leo Group now have solar panels across many of our company sites. The use of solar panels is to help assist the electricity demand for the sites, we also put some of this electricity back into the grid.
Biomass Energy
Leo Group has advanced in biomass energy using a waste wood process, which assists in transforming end of life wood materials into a BSL accredited dry fuel for biomass boiler combustion. This enables Carbon Neutral heat energy to be utilised for company buildings and the production lines. The new biomass boilers utilise an efficient shell-tube boiler system and can achieve thermal efficiencies up to 91% which is similar to a domestic condensing boiler.
